Minyan Makers

Be part of a group that we can count on for morning or evening prayer services this year: support the minyan and all who are saying Kaddish. By participating in these services and staying for a communal breakfast, a true community and a social support network are built.

Bikkur-Cholim

We have a bikkur cholim team ready to provide a multi-pronged approach to connect with vulnerable populations across Montreal. Whether in hospitals, rehabs, long-term care facilities, or at home, we offer additional, regular support to those in need through phone calls or visits.  This outreach and follow-up are an antidote to isolation and vulnerability within our community.

Bereavement Support:

We have two bereavement support groups for people in the community who have faced the recent loss of a family member. Individuals can process their experiences by attending one or multiple sessions throughout the year, fostering camaraderie. We offer walks around Westmount or more focused group discussions. These programs are co-facilitated by a trained volunteer from Hope and Cope and a spiritual support leader at the Shaar,

Lev Coeur:

Lev Coeur is an offshoot of our successful Meals on Wheels program, and a way for people to come together to give back and help others less fortunate.

We prepare meals twice a month for Auberge Shalom—while fostering a meaningful relationship with the community to support and strengthen its mission—with the goal of eventually expanding to other shelters and charities.

Together, we welcome new initiatives and ideas to strengthen and broaden the impact of Shaar Cares.
