Netivot

The Netivot after-school program is for families looking to expand their children in non-Jewish elemntary school's understanding of and connection to Judaism.

Our Mission

Netivot provides the building blocks for your child to develop a love for Jewish life and a connection to Jewish traditions. Our synagogue-based program creates rich opportunities for Netivot students and their families to experience the rhythms and rituals of Jewish life while connecting to the larger community and the State of Israel.

The Program

We offer a Jewish values curriculum as well as Hebrew literacy, through fun and engaging project-based learning, matching values to holidays and other special days on the Jewish calendar. We are proud to use the Shalom Learning curriculum as the basis of our program. Through our project-based and experiential curriculum, your child will learn about Shabbat and the holidays, the meaning and teachings behind well-known texts and stories from our tradition, and basic Hebrew literacy.

Our Values

Our team is committed to helping your child explore and expand their Jewish knowledge, ignite their Jewish pride, and put their Jewish values into action. Our teaching highlights intellectual, practical, and spiritual pathways to Judaism, connections to Israel and offers unique hands-on volunteer opportunities.

Our Team

Our team is made up of passionate and dedicated educators who bring energy and kindness to their teaching. The teachers are assisted by youth volunteers and our visiting Israeli Shinshinim. Raissa, our director, manages the team and interfaces with parents to ensure that the whole family is part of the Netivot experience.

Special programs for the whole family

We engage the entire family by encouraging our Netivot parents and grandparents to participate in programs and special events hosted by the Shaar. This added connectivity to the wider Shaar community is a great way to establish a relationship to our clergy, our community, and to start feeling at home in our building.
