The Premier Venue for Weddings & Celebrations
Considered the premier venue for weddings, B’nei Mitzvah celebrations, community events, tribute dinners, concerts, lectures, and seminars, we offer a range of different-sized banquet halls and meeting rooms from the most intimate to the most lavish. The Shaar is the only synagogue in Montreal with an underground indoor parking facility.
Main Sanctuary
The main sanctuary’s stained-glass windows, stately stone pillars, original wood paneling, and 40-foot tall ceiling make it the most elegant venue in Montreal. The majestic bimah, ark, and choir loft invoke the very essence of Jewish tradition. We also have the longest aisle in the city.

Chapel
The newly-renovated Chapel provides a more intimate setting for smaller ceremonies, community events, and celebrations such as weddings, Brit Milahs or baby namings. The seating in this modern, light-filled space, can be configured in a variety of ways depending on your needs.

Bride's Room and Groom's Room
Designed with comfort and elegance in mind, our Brides’ and Grooms’ Rooms provide a serene space for final moments of reflection and preparation before, during, and after the wedding ceremony. Warm lighting, modern furnishings, and tasteful décor create an inviting atmosphere for couples and their loved ones.
Lande Hall
The larger of our two banquet halls, Lande Hall boasts a spectacular chandelier and state-of-the-art audio/visual capabilities. This hall is a masterpiece of understated elegance.

Victor Hall
Victor Hall is a modern banquet hall that features stunning detailing, wood flooring, and ambient lighting.

- Seated at tables, no dance floor: 260
- Seated at tables, with dance floor: 200
- Theatre-style seating: 400
Victor Hall can be enlarged to include adjoining rooms for an even greater capacity.
Connected by the Paperman Lobby, the close proximity of Lande and Victor Halls make them ideal for a cocktail/dinner combination.
The Raby and Goodman Kiddush Rooms
Ideal for Intimate Functions and Flexible Gatherings
These two adjoining rooms offer a warm, inviting atmosphere—perfect for smaller events such as lectures, family celebrations, committee meetings, or community workshops. Featuring movable walls, the spaces can be used independently or seamlessly combined to create a larger, open-plan environment that suits a wide range of functions.
Whether you’re planning a cozy luncheon, a milestone gathering, or an educational program, these rooms offer versatility, convenience, and a sense of closeness that enhances every occasion.
